Get InvolvedGet involved at Opportunity School! From reading to children each month through our Guest Reading Program to pledging a gift to provide a child in need with a scholarship, your involvement allows Opportunity School to make a difference in hundreds of children’s lives each year. There are so many ways to get involved! Please give us a call anytime to learn more about our programs, volunteer opportunities, or to find out about ways we can introduce your friends to Opportunity School. The 149 children we are serving this year have the potential to change the world because you are giving them the opportunity to get a “Good Beginning”. Current wish list: * Video camera monitoring system for classrooms at the Grand Street Campus. (Approximate cost: $3,000) * Dress up clothes for 3 and 4 year olds. * "Eno" Boards - Interactive white board for pre-k students (school can provide ordering details). One for each campus ($2,500 each X 2 = $5,000). * High quality hardback books for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. * Television and DVD player for teacher training. * A Speech and Language Assessment Kit used by our Speech Therapist to assess language and cognitive communication skills of students on both campuses ($900). * 4 portable individual CD players for classroom music and audio books. * 5 portable individual cassette players for audio books. * 6 stainless steel 10 gallon step trash cans with lids * 6 stainless steel 5 gallon step trash cans with lids * 8 round classroom tables for classrooms at the Central Campus.
