Watch us Grow!

Because of so many generous donors, Opportunity School's building project is underway and the fundraising is nearly complete!

The new campus will be named for Elaine Edwards, who was the leader of the Sunday School class at First Presbyterian Church which had the vision to begin an early education program to serve young children and their families. Along with the school's very first teacher, Betsy Singleton, the school opened its doors in 1969.

Now, more than 50 year's later, Opportunity School will have a new home in northeast Amarillo which will offer expanded services to children and families.

Three years ago, a suitable site was found near the intersections of SE 3rd Avenue and Ross Street. The land has been secured and paid for through the Opportunity School’s Board Directed Agency Fund. Fundraising began in 2018 and we held a groundbreaking ceremony in early March. When complete, the new campus will cost $4.5 million to construct.

More than $4.2 million has already been committed to this project through generous donations from Foundations, Businesses, and Individuals. Please help us get to the finish line!

Please consider a gift towards Opportunity School’s capital campaign expansion project to help more children move out of poverty and grow up to become stable, contributing adults in our Amarillo community and beyond.  DONATE HERE
